Makeup: cheap @ Bed Bath & Beyond

I recently went on (what felt like) a scavenger hunt for the perfect lipstick color that would like nice in photographs.  Maybelline Superstay-24 Lipcolor was recommended to me (thanks LK) and so I tried it. At first I thought it was kinda expensive for lipstick, since I first saw it at Riteaid and CVS for about $9.. I tried Target and they were a little bit cheaper there, but then later in the week I was at Bed Bath & Beyond and checked out their makeup aisle. Wow cheap! I ended up getting a waterproof Cover Girl mascara, Maybelline eye makeup remover for waterproof makeup, and a Superstay 24 lipcolor all for $10 (Remember, Bed Bath Beyond has coupons! I used the $5 off $15 purchase coupon).

Inexpensive manicure w/ NYC & NK polishes

Having fun with an inexpensive manicure:     Check this out, a manicure with polishes that add up to $3 (did this 2 nights ago, no top coat- look how there are no chips in the polish)  

  Ok, so it's a messy manicure, but I kept it off the cuticles so that's a big step! This was done with 2 coats of "Really White" NK brand nail polish (click here----> to "like" them on facebook and get a discount code) (99 cents):   

and a couple of coats of "Tribeca Silver" NYC brand polish ($ 1.99):

CVS has clearance makeup again!! 50- 75% off Sally Hansen nail polishes, physicians formula, loreal, revlon, etc... An invite to readers to share stories about seemingly- great deals that ended up causing a great deal of annoyance. Examples:

Did you ever buy something and don't realize until you get home that the cashier forgot to remove the security tag?

Did you ever submit a rebate by mail, and have enough trouble tracking & receiving the check to make it not worth the effort?

Dig through the discount racks, find something you love @ a great price, but learn at checkout that it was on the clearance rack by mistake, and is actually full price?

This is a new segment of my blog I would like to call "Things you overhear while out in public.."

Was in store today, and there were a couple of women looking around. One of them was holding a whole bunch of items that she decided she wasn't going to buy and was just going to leave the unwanted items in a pile in the aisle (rhyming not intentional). The other lady with her told her to put the items back where she got them from, and her reply was "the people who work here can put it away, that is their job. If I put it away for them, they wouldn't have a job..."

Yesterday, I had to rent a small truck to move some stuff. We ended up paying $14.99 for a truck that normally goes for $19.99 and were charged a discounted fee per mile too. 

Funny story actually, when we got to the Budget rental place, they told us that the price we saw on their website was only if you book online. We did not know that, and had not booked it beforehand. So my first question was "Do you have internet we can borrow??" not seriously, of course. When the lady working there said "no, I only have internet on my i-phone," I asked (again, half kidding) "can we borrow your phone?" She said YES! haha so we made the reservation for the budget truck using her i-phone. Got a nice discount. :)
