Save Money with "DIY Hair Styling"

Labels:
With the economy the way it is, people have been forced to reevaluate their spending habits. One way to save money (potentially a lot of $$$) is to cut and color your own hair. Drug stores and large retail superstores often run sales on hair dye products. With coupons that come with the Sunday paper, or from the many online coupon printing sites, these products can be purchased for under $ 5.00...

You can get a hair-cutting scissor from a local drug store or beauty supply store for under $10...Cut your friends' hair, your family members' hair... maybe they'll even pay you? lol

IF you have no idea how to cut hair, just do some research online. You can find many videos and websites with tutorials. Just don't cut too much the first time!

cereal for less

Labels:
The major drug stores seem to alternate running sales on cereal. Apparently this week at CVS there is a sale on GM cereal, and there were GM coupons this past weekend in the circular. Bottom line is, you can get 12.8 ounce boxes for around $1.50 each with sale price & coupons. Breakfast is awesome.

Using Online Auction Sites...

Labels:
Hey thrifties;

Did you know that E bay allows you to post up to 100 items per month for free as long as the starting auction price is 99 cents or less? I believe you just pay a small fee if your item sells. This is an awesome way of de-cluttering your home of the little inexpensive chachkas that are lying around collecting dust. It adds up over time so you can reclaim some $$$ from things you bought and didn't really need. (Make sure NOT to sell anything that may be an antique or collectible, at this low of a price). Ideas: small paperback books, coffee mug, small stuffed animals..

Buyer pays shipping, but determine accurate shipping charges ahead of time so you don't lose money by paying out of pocket when you ship stuff.

why purchase garbage bags...??

Labels:
No one wants to feel like they are literally throwing money away... but spending money on garbage bags is doing just that. Actual garbage bags are expensive...but grocery store bags come with your groceries! Yes, some stores offer 2, or 5 cents per canvas bag if you bring your own, which you should definitely take advantage of. But if you can bag some things in plastic bags too, they are great for garbage.

Ok...now it's time for a home- made cappuccino, using an espresso maker that was purchased on sale along with a store coupon... off to the kitchen..
